Best highlights for dark hair?

I have dark brown hair, almost black....I would like to add highlights and not sure what is the best color to use on dark hair..Is deep red or blonde tones the style now??

I just did red and a caramel color. Go for a few shades lighter in your hair (the red looked bad on me, and my hair's almost black so... use descretion)

Don't get blonde, you will look like a skunk. I would go for a nice caramel colour, something only 1 or 2 shades lighter than your dark brown colour. Trust me, the blonde will not look good.

raspberry and red tones are the best for black and almost black hair. blond would not work, whether or not it is the style.

Look into your own eyes do you see yellow, red, green flecks? I don't know how old you are but blond on black or dark adds age to your face right away....plus you could end up looking like a saddle shoe, black and white! Anything that looks good on you is the style now...Reds, browns or caramels.....

i love the Carmel color i think reds would look cool but you can't do both red and bleach it will turn a hot pink been there and done that not fun but light brown and red would look good
